Our Story
Founded by a coalition of senior HR practitioners and academic institutions, IHRMO emerged from a shared recognition that the profession deserved a truly global, independent and member-led organization. Our charter has guided HR leaders through two decades of profound workplace transformation.

To advance the human resource profession globally through research, recognition, knowledge exchange and the cultivation of an international community committed to ethical, evidence-based people leadership.

Leadership
IHRMO is led by a Global Board drawn from member institutions in every continent. Our Executive Council convenes biannually and is supported by the International Advisory Committee.
Governance
We operate under a transparent, member-elected governance structure. All bylaws, annual reports and financial disclosures are published in the Member Portal and the public Governance archive.
Global Presence
Regional headquarters in Geneva, Singapore, Dubai, Washington and São Paulo support 36 country chapters and serve a member base spanning 180+ jurisdictions.
Strategic Roadmap
Our 2026–2030 Roadmap focuses on Future of Work research, global policy engagement, equitable membership expansion and a unified digital infrastructure for member services.
Annual Reports
Each year IHRMO publishes a comprehensive Annual Report covering programs, research outputs, financial performance, and the state of the global HR profession.
